Description
Comprehensive Chemistry and Biology of Coumarins Scaffold covers detailed methods and protocols to synthetize Coumarin derivatives and different applications and future perspectives for these compounds. Coumarin-Based Scaffolds plays an important role in organic, bioorganic, and medicinal chemistry as they act as a bridge between chemistry, life sciences, and biochemical investigations. Coumarin is an important scaffold for designing, generating a wide variety of chemical libraries and drug-like candidates to obtain desired therapeutic and pharmacological properties. Specific functional groups are covered as well as the synthesis of bioactive compounds against specific pathological conditions. The discovery of new coumarin-based drug candidates during the last decades has been covered to assist the pharmaceutical, bioorganic and medicinal chemists for their further research on coumarin-based molecules. - Provides a resource that is organized consistently based on targets and mechanisms of action from a molecular point-of-view - Emphasizes synthetic methodologies and their various medicinal applications - Critically analyzes and updates much of the widely dispersed content in one place

Dr. Shehryar Hameed is an experienced medicinal and organic chemist with a strong research background in drug discovery and development. He is currently serving as a Medicinal Chemistry Researcher at Trustlife Labs Pharmaceutical R&D, Istanbul, Turkey, where he is involved in structure-based small-molecule design, synthesis of novel therapeutic scaffolds, and optimization of synthetic routes for lead compounds, with a particular focus on cancer research. Dr. Hameed obtained his M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Organic and Medicinal Chemistry from the H. E. J. Research Institute of Chemistry, ICCBS, University of Karachi. His research expertise includes the synthesis of biologically active heterocycles, nature-inspired molecular frameworks, SAR analysis, and computer-aided drug design (CADD). He has authored numerous peer-reviewed research articles, reviews, and book chapters. His interests include hit-to-lead optimization, target-based drug design, and the development of anticancer agents. He also serves as a peer reviewer for international scientific journals.Prof. Dr. Khalid Mohammed Khan is one of Pakistan's leading scientists, renowned for his pioneering work in medicinal chemistry and drug discovery. He established a state-of-the-art medicinal and synthetic chemistry laboratory at ICCBS, University of Karachi, dedicated to the development of novel enzyme inhibitors and bioactive compounds. He has mentored numerous young researchers in drug design and discovery and has significantly contributed to the scientific literature with several new classes of pharmacologically active molecules and innovative pharmacophores.Mehwish Solangi has obtained her M.Phil. degree in Organic Chemistry from H.E.J. Research Institute of Chemistry, the University of Karachi under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Khalid. M. Khan. Currently, she is a doctoral researcher at the H.E.J. Research Institute of Chemistry, University of Karachi. Her research was then focused on the "Synthesis and Bioactivities of Indole and Indoline Derivatives. Her present research interests involve the synthesis of versatile scaffolds based on substituted Indole, Benzisoxazole, and pyridazine heterocyclic derivatives in search of potential therapeutic agents and their broad range of medicinal applications for the development of novel drug candidates against antidiabetic, anti-Alzheimer's, ROS scavengers.
