This book gathers the proceedings of the 7th International Conference, with the theme “Culture and Tourism in a Smart, Globalized and Sustainable World,” held on Hydra Island, Greece, on June 17–19, 2020, published with the support of the International Association of Cultural and Digital Tourism.
Highlighting the contributions made by numerous writers to the advancement of tourism research, this book presents a critical academic discourse on sustainable practices in the smart tourism context, improving readers’ understanding of, and stimulating future debates in, this critical area. Vicky Katsoni is Associate Professor at the Tourism Management Department of the University of West Athens, Greece, and she is also teaching at the Greek Open University. She has published 12 books on tourism, chapters in edited volumes, and numerous papers in highly academic journals. She is the president of the non-profit “International Association of Cultural and Digital Tourism” (IACuDiT) and a member of the Editorial Board of many scientific journals in tourism and marketing.

Ciná van Zyl has been active in the last 3 decades either in academic teaching, creating training programs, curricula, and syllabus or in a managing capacity as Head of the Department of Applied Management at the University of South Africa, Pretoria. She is currently a task team member of the College of Economics and Management Sciences Innovation Hub, a registered community engagement project empowering small-medium enterprises (SMEs) in the community.
