Prof. Nabil A. Shallik, MD, is an assistant professor of Clinical Anesthesiology at Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar and assistant professor of Anesthesiology and intensive Care at Tanta Faculty of Medicine in Egypt, associate head of anesthesia services in Rumailah Hospital and Ambulatory Care Center, part of Hamad Medical Corporation in Qatar. He also works as a senior consultant in Anesthesia, ICU and Perioperative Medicine at Hamad General Hospital in Qatar. He has published more than 40 articles in national and international peer-reviewed medical journals including perioperative, pain and airway publications. He is also a reviewer and editorial board member for a number of international peer reviewed medical journals. He is official reviewer for Hamad Medical Research Center (MRC) team. He is the main author of numerous book’s chapters and editor of many books. He is a leading researcher in airway management in the Middle East and his research interests mainly focus on perioperative care and on new tools for airway assessment and management.

Dr. Nabil is a pioneer in anesthesia education and a dedicated clinical teacher with more than 20 years of anesthesia practice and 15 years of dedicated anesthesia teaching. Dr. Nabil is a core faculty member of the Anesthesia Residency Program, the first ACGME-I accredited program in the Middle East. He received the Award of Excellence in Medical Education in Qatar and best teaching material award from the International Sleep Surgery Society (ISSS). As a course director for all airway workshops and courses in Qatar Robotic Surgery Center and Itqan Simulation Center, he is continually testing, inventing and tailoring basic and advanced educational modules related to airway skills to suit different health care providers. Dr. Nabil is an active contributor to international anesthesia societies (Airway Management Academy (AMA) and European Airway Management Society (EAMS)), and he received innovation funding from the Academic Health System (AHS) in HMC for the development of three projects: Novel Ultrasound Visible Double Cuff (UVDC) for Endotracheal Tube (ETT); new video-scope (Shalliscope) and Ventilation with View Mask. As a manager he streamlined the clinical service in the ENT anesthesia department, was a major force behind the transformation of the Hamad Medical Corporation into an academic health system, the implementation of electronic medical record, the JCI accreditation of the Corporation and is frequently invited as guest speaker in national and international conferences.

Prof.  Abbas H. Moustafa, MD, is a professor of Diagnostic Radiology at El-Minia Medical College in Egypt and consultant of Clinical Imaging and Radiology services in Rumailah, NCCCR and Heart Hospital complex, part of Hamad Medical Corporation in Qatar.

He has published more than 50 articles in national and international peer-reviewed medical journals including Head and neck, body, Forensic Radiology, Oral and Maxillofacial and airway publications. He is also a reviewer and editorial board member for a number of international peer reviewed medical journals. He was the main author of some book chapters, and he supervises many Masters’ degree and MD thesis in the field of Radiology.

Prof. Abbas is a pioneer in 3-D imaging specifically in the H&N region and a dedicated clinical advisory and he got his experience during preparation of his MD thesis at Rostock University - FRG. He was involved in teaching activity as Professor of Radiology with more than 30 years of practice and 20 years of dedicated Radiology teaching. He is a faculty member of the Radiology Residency program, the first ACGME-I accredited program in the Middle East. He has extensive dedication in Head & Neck and pioneer in Forensic Radiology and Anthropological studies for identification. He introduced virtual osteoscopy and Calvarial butterfly as a new radiological method of identification.

Prof. Dr. Abraham Marcus, is the chairman of the Department of Anesthesiology, ICU, and Perioperative Medicine, and a member of the Hamad General Hospital and Women’s Wellness and Research Center Executive Management team, Hamad Medical Corporation, Qatar. His academic appointments are Professor of Weill Cornell Medical College, Qatar, Professor of Qatar University, while keeping the position as Professor at University of Muenster, Germany.

His research focuses on the transition of acute into chronic pain, and blood management. He was the winner of several prizes and (co) author of 160 cited articles, 50 non-cited articles, several book chapters, and was more than 300 times an invited guest speaker.
